Floor coating removal
Floor coating removal is required to ensure maximum bond strength between concrete surface and fresh metallic epoxy, urethane, polyaspartic flooring.
If the concrete surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free of substrate has recently been subjected to moisture, free of all contaminants.
New concrete must be cured for minimum of 28 days with no more than 4% moisture.
Any curing or hardening compounds, form oils, release agents or laitance must be removed by means of mechanical abrasion. Shot blasting or diamond grinding are the recommended methods.

Grinding the surface of the concrete and opening the pores of the concrete to rate is greater than 6 mils it increases the probability allow maximum penetration of the primer.
Ensure the methods of mechanical abrasion are dust-free.
Remove any contamination
Ensure all loose concrete, grease and oil is removed, using a scarifier, diamond grinder, bush hammer or other methods,The concrete surface must be clean and sound. Remove any dust, laitance, grease, oil, dirt, curing agents, impregnations, wax, foreign matter, coatings and detritus from the surface by appropriate mechanical means, in order to achieve a profile equivalent to ICRI / CSP 3 – 4 for floors.

Mixing
Make sure you read the instructions on the label for mixing ratio, mixing ratio varies between concrete floor coatings depending on the manufacturer, some of them 1-to-1 some 1-to-2 some 3 to 1 , Parts A to Parts B by volume. Always premix using an industrial mixer.
Patch any uneven or damaged concrete, If stability of existing coating is in question, test a small section.
Concrete coating application
Prime Coat: Apply uniform coverage without puddling as a prime coat onto the substrate using a brush, roller or squeegee.
Wear Coat: Once the prime coat is tack free, apply the wear coat using a squeegee or roller and backroll to achieve even coverage. If time between coats exceeds 48 hours at 22 °C (71 °F), abrade surface and wipe clean with a solventdampened cloth.
